marriage of metals
(married metals)
these pieces are made using a technique called marriage of metals.  marriage of metals is created by sawing out a shape in one color sheet metal, then replacing that same shape with a different colored metal.  this process is similar to the way a puzzle is put together. the pieces are then soldered into place flat on a soldering block.  to finish the effect, the pieces are filed and sanded until all different metals appear to be one.
